The Classes

Class 1
PAIRS CROSS COUNTRY

Designed as an introduction to Team Chasing and run under team chasing rules, this class is for less experienced horses and riders. It is run over an inviting course of about one and half miles long, with a water complex. Maximum height of jumps approx 2' 9". The competition will be judged over a bogey time and a dressing fence.
1st Prize - £35 2nd Prize - £20 3rd Prize - £10

Rosettes to 6th place

Entry Fee £25 per pair plus £2 medical levy


Class 2
THE CUBHUNTER (Novice)

This class is designed to suit all members of the family. Maximum height of jumps approx 2'9". The competition will be judged over a bogey time.
1st Prize - £100 2nd Prize - £60 3rd Prize - £40

Rosettes to 6th place

Special prizes for The Best Pony Club / School Team and The Best Family Team

Entry Fee £50 per team plus £5 medical levy


Class 3 THE OPEN

This event is part of the Goring Hotel Open Qualifier Series for The Goring Hotel National Team Chase Championships.


The course, which this year has been much improved, will consist of about 28 fences over a distance of approximately 2 miles. The first two prizewinners will qualify for The Goring Hotel National Team Chase Championship, which will be held in March 2005. Should either of the first two teams have already qualified, then the qualification will be handed down to the next highest team(s) in the first six. The winner of the class will also receive the Grafton Hunt Open Trophy, which was kindly donated by the Pheasant Pluckers Team.

Entry Fee £80 per team plus £20 declaration fee payable on the day


Class 4 THE FOXHUNTER (Intermediate)

This class is designed to suite more experienced hunting teams. The course will consist of about 24 fences over a distance of approximately 2 miles. The maximum height of fixed obstacles will not exceed 3'9". Minimum age of riders - 16 years. Horses must be over 14.2hh.
1st Prize - £100 2nd Prize - £60 3rd Prize - £40
Rosettes to 6th place. Additional prizes for the fastest team kindly donated by Harley Equestrian.
The Gerald Dancer Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the fastest Grafton Team.

Entry Fee £60 per team plus £20 declaration fee payable on the day.

Directions to the Grafton Hunt Team Chase

From the M40 Junction 11 (Banbury), take the A422 Brackley Road. At the top of the hill, at the end of the dual carriageway, turn left at the roundabout onto the B4525 Northampton Road. Continue along this road for approximately3 miles and turn left as sign posted to Sulgrave. Continue on for about 2 miles, but DO NOT turn right into Sulgrave Village as signed, but instead keep straight on for half a mile and the Course will be seen on the right hand side of the road.
