RULES
This team chase is run under the auspices of the MFHA governing body and is bound by their rules which apply to every class thereat.
- In classes 3 & 4 horses must be 14.2 & over and each team must consist of 3 or 4 riders, 3 of whom must complete the course. In all classes horses 5yrs old or over.
- No horse may start in more than one team chase class.
- Each rider must wear the number cloth allocated for identification.
- Hunting Dress or team uniform may be worn. Crash hats and body protectors, which must comply with current BS standards, and hunting ties must be worn. Anyone mounted at the event must wear a hard hat.
- Teams will be notified of their starting time which will be a drawn order. Any team failing to present themselves at this time may be eliminated.
- In the event of cancellation by the organisers the entry fee less 20% will be refunded if an S.A.E. is received within 14 days of cancellation.
- Competitors may exercise only in the area provided and will only proceed to the course when requested to do so.
- Fences must be jumped between the red and white flags. Competitors jumping the wrong course will be eliminated.
- After 3 refusals at any one fence or after a total of 5 refusals on the course the competitor is eliminated and must leave the course. Riders must retire after a second fall. The Team will be disqualified for any abuse of these rules by any individual member.
- A time limit will be set for the completion of the course any team exceeding the limit will be eliminated and must leave the course.
- Any team member overtaken by a member of the following team must retire & leave the course.
- Team members must complete the course on the horse on which they started.
- Any rider who sustains concussion will be banned from competing again on the day.
- The Organiser or Chief Steward reserves the right to cancel any class or event, withhold any prize money, alter the advertised times, refuse an entry, alter the course before or during the competition. To eliminate any rider for abuse of the horse, failing to follow the directions of officials or for not adhering to the rules.
To stop any distressed competitor or horse.
- Disclaimer of Liability. Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Organisers for which they are legally responsible, neither the organisers of any event to which these rules apply, nor any representative of these bodies accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, vehicles, contents or accessories or any other person whatever, whether caused by their negligence or in any other way.
- All participants MUST carry Third Party Insurance for not less than £5m. (Covered by membership to the Countryside Alliance) It is strongly recommended that all participants have Personal Accident Insurance cover.
