TEAM CHASE

RULES

  1. Teams will consist of four horses an riders, the fastest three to count. The time of the third member to finish will be the time of the team.
  2. No horse may compete more than once during the day.
  3. Falls will be penalised by time only.
  4. Crash hats and back protectors must be worn by all competitors.
  5. All riders must be sixteen years and over where applicable.
  6. All horses must be 14.2 hands and over.
  7. Competitors may exercise their horses in the area provided. They may not ride on or near any part of the course except when competing.
  8. Competitors must jump all fences in numerical order with red flags on their right and white flags on their left.
  9. Any competitors having more than three refusals at a fence or five over the whole course will be eliminated and must retire immediately.
  10. Any rider who sustains concussion will not be allowed to ride again on the day.
  11. The Judges decision is final at all times.
  12. Competitors will be expected to pay for any services received from the farrier, veterinary surgeon, horse ambulance, doctor or any other medical service.
  13. In the event of postponement no refund of entry fees will be given, but if the event is cancelled 50% of the entry fee will be refunded
  14. The organisers accept no liability for any accident, damage, illness or injury to horses, owners, riders, grooms, spectators or any other persons or property on the ground.
  15. All vehicles are parked at the owners risk.
  16. The organisers reserve the right to:
    1. Refuse entry without stating reasons.
    2. Alter the Course or leave out any obstacle before or during the competition.
    3. Eliminate any competitor not adhering to the rules.
    4. Refuse to allow any rider to compete if deemed unfit by the medi- cal officer.
    5. Refuse to allow any horse to compete if deemed unfit by a veteri nary officer.
    6. Alter the advertised times.
  17. It is a requirement that all participants carry Third Party Insurance for not less than £5m. It is also recommended that all participants have Personal Accident Insurance.
  18. MFHA Team Chase Rules apply and will be displayed on the day.
