V.W.H. TEAM EVENT SUNDAY 20th FEBRUARY 2005

Please read these rules, they are for all participants.

  1. Class 1 & 2. Teams to consist of 3 or 4 horses, the fastest 3 to count.
  2. Class 3 . Teams to consist of 3 or 4 horses. Judged [on a bogey time] on the 3rd horse to finish.
  3. Teams must jump all the fences in numerical order between the marker flags. Any horse taking the wrong course will be eliminated.
  4. If there is a pen on the course, 12 horse feet must be in the pen at once. If not a 20 second penalty will be added to the finishing time.
  5. Any team not completing the course within 10 minutes will be eliminated.
  6. Three refusals at any one fence or five in total will eliminate the horse and rider. Failure to stop and the whole team will be eliminated.
  7. The Chief Mounted Steward will be riding round the course. He/she has the authority to stop any horse that is tired, lame or being treated in an unsuitable manner. He/she must be obeyed, if not the whole team will be eliminated.
  8. Team members numbers will be issued at the Secretary’s lorry for a deposit of £10.00.
  9. Each team will be given a starting time. Please be in the collecting ring at least 15 minutes before your starting time.
  10. No horse or pony may compete more than once.
  11. Riders are requested to wear hats that comply to the current safety standards. Back protectors must be worn.
  12. It is a requirement that all participants must have third party insurance for not less than £5M. It is also recommended that all participants hold personal accident insurance.
  13. The Judges decision will be final at all times. Objections must be lodged with the secretary within 10 minutes of the end of the class and will cost £20.00.
  14. Competitors may exercise their horses in the area provided.
  15. The organisers do not accept liability for any accident, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, grooms, spectators or any other persons or property on the ground.
  16. All cars, lorries and horseboxes are parked at owners risk. No responsibility is accepted for damage to or loss from the above parked on the ground.
  17. The organisers reserve the right to:- alter the advertised times, refuse any entry without reason, alter the course or leave out any fence before or during the competition or eliminate any competitor not adhering to the rules.
  18. In the event of postponement due to weather etc. no refund will be made. If cancelled 75% of entry fees will be refunded.
  19. After the drop of the starter flag exchanging horses is not allowed.
  20. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
  21. Small children must be supervised at all times.

Please take your litter home.

DIRECTIONS: AMPNEY DOWNS FARM IS ON THE A429 STOW-ON-THE-WOLD ROAD., 3 MILES NORTH OF CIRENCESTER. THERE IS NO ACCESS TO THE FARM OFF THE B4425 BIBURY/BURFORD ROAD.

There will be paramedics, a vet and a farrier on site.
