Rules

- Intermediate and Open All Comers teams will consist of four horses and riders, the fastest three to count. All riders shall have attained the age of 16 years by the lst January 2006.
Bogey Time Class teams will consist of four horses and riders to be run against a Bogey Time on a hunting line for the third horse to finish. (550m / min)
All riders shall have attained the age of 12 years by 1st January 2006.
- Teams must jump all fences between the red and white flags. Where alternative fences are available, individual members of the team may choose either track.
- If at least three of the horses of the team have not completed the course within the time limit set, the team will be eliminated.
- Refusals and falls will be penalised by time only.
- Numbers will be issued by the Secretary's tent and a deposit of £5 per team will be charged at the time of issue which will be returnable. The captain of each team will be responsible for this.
- Each team will be given a starting time which may be altered at any time by the organisers. Teams must be declare at least one hour before the time at which they are due to start and must be in the collecting ring ready to start at least 15 minutes before their starting time.
- No horse may compete more than once.
- All competitors must wear a crash helmet to current recognised British safety Standards and a body protector to current approved British Safety Standards. Any other mounted person must also wear a crash hat to current recognised British Safety Standards.
- The judges decision will be final at all times.
- In the event of a tie in timed classes the time of the fourth horse to finish will decide.
- Competitors may exercise their horses only in the area provided. They may not ride on, or near any part of the course except when competing.
- Riders and owners of competing horses and their employees must obey any order given to them by any responsible official and in particular they shall not do anything to hinder the smooth running of the event.
- If at any time before or during the competition a horse is deemed to be sick, lame or exhausted, it may be eliminated on the authority of the Veterinary Surgeon.
- Any competitor found to be unfit before or during the competition may be eliminated on the the authority of the medical officer in charge or other competent official.
- The organisers reserve the right to:
- Withhold any prize because of insufficient entries declared.
- Alter the advertised times.
- Refuse any entry with or without stating reasons.
- Alter the course or leave out any obstacle before or during the competition.
- Eliminate any competitor not adhering to the rules.
- The organisers do not accept liability for any accidents, damage, injury, or illness to horses, owners, riders, grooms, ground spectators or any person or property on the ground. All vehicles parked at owners' risk. No responsibility is accepted for damage to or loss from vehicles parked on the premises.
- Any team or an other person wishing to lodge an objection must first deposit £10 with the Secretary and make their objection in writing within 10 minutes of the last competitor completing the course or being eliminated, the deposit will be refunded if the objection is upheld.
- All competitors must obey the orders of the Starter and the time for each team will be taken from the drop of the Starter's flag and the end as the third competitor crosses the finishing line.
- In the event of the postponement due to bad weather or any other unforeseen circumstances no refund of entry fees can be made. 75% of the entry fee will be refunded in the event of a cancellation.
- DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES.
- All teams' starting times will be available from the Entries Secretary on Friday 3rd March between 6p.m. and l0p.m. These will also be published on the web at www.teamchasing.co.uk
- The course will be open to be walked from 9.00am on Saturday 4th March.
- Car passes will be sent to each team. Any vehicle not displaying one of these will be charged at the gate.
- It is a requirement that all participants carry Third Party Insurance for not less than £5 million. It is also strongly recommended that all participants have Personal Accident Insurance.
