THE WARWICKSHIRE HUNT

Sunday 12th March 2006 Conditions
A. GENERAL
- Entries can only be accepted if they are submitted with the correct entry fee.
- Unless fees are received in full, competitors will not be permitted to take part.
- Any competitor jumping a fence (other than the practice fence) prior to the competition will be disqualified.
Competitors who are eliminated must leave the course immediately at a walk, and must not jump any other fence after elimination or retirement. - The organisers reserve the right to return or refuse entry.
- The organisers and landowners do not accept liability for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, grooms, ground spectators, or any other person or property whatever on the ground. All vehicles are parked at the owners' risk. No responsibility can be accepted for damage to or loss from those vehicles moving or parking on the premises.
- All competitors MUST compete with a regulation crash hat to comply with BSI standards. Stocks and back protectors are strongly recommended.
- Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
- No horse may compete more than once in a class.
- Late entries will be accepted, subject to availability of time, and will be charged an additional £5 per person.
- All competitors should collect number cloths from the Secretary's horse box. Please ensure that each person wears the correct colour in the team event, and notify the Secretary of any changes to the original entry. A refundable deposit of £5 will be required for number cloths and £10 for a team set.
- Competitors shall report to the collecting ring Steward 15 minutes before their start time, and any team not running in programme order will be penalised by a 30 second penalty.
- Exchanging horses is not allowed after a competitor has started.
- The organisers reserve the right to:-
- Withhold any prizes because of insufficient declared entries
- Alter the advertised times
- Refuse any entry without stating a reason
- Eliminate any competitors not adhering to the rules
- In the event of dispute, the Steward's decision is final. Any competitor wishing to lodge an objection must first deposit £10 with the Secretary and the objection must be writing. If upheld, the deposit will be refunded.
- In the event of postponement due to bad weather or any unforeseen circumstances, no refund of entry fees can be made, but if cancelled 50% of entry fees will be returned.
- Veterinary surgeons will be on the field during the competition, and competitors will be required to pay for any services received.
- B. CLASSES 1 & 2
- The results will be judged on faults and a timed section.
- Entries are restricted to novice horses which do not have any BHS points and have not been placed first in any hunter trials.
- There is no age restriction on competitors or height restriction on horses in these 2 classes.
- C. CLASS 3
- The result will be judged on a bogey-time.
- Competitors must retire after three refusals at any one fence. If they continue, the whole team will be eliminated.
- D. CLASS 4
- All riders must be 16 years or over on the day of the event, and horses must exceed 14.2 hands.
- The winners will be the fastest team.
- The number of refusals shall not exceed three at any one fence, or five on the course per horse, when the competitor shall be eliminated and must leave the course at once. The team will be disqualified for an abuse of these rules by any individual member.
- E. CLASSES 3 & 4
- Teams can consist of 3 or 4 riders. The results will be judged on time and the time of the third horse through the finish will be the time for the team. In the event of a dead heat, the time of the fourth horse will decide.
- All fences must be jumped between the numbered flags and in the correct order. Falls and refusals will be penalised by time only. Teams not completing in 12 minutes will be eliminated. Failure to jump all the fences in the correct order will result in that team member being eliminated and he/she must retire.
- If competitors are asked to leave the course by an official, they must do so immediately. A red flag will be on the course to stop unfit or exhausted horses from continuing on the course, and his instructions must be obeyed.
- All competitors MUST wear body protectors to BSI standards.
- It is a requirement that all participants carry third party insurance for not less than £5m. It is also strongly recommended that all participants have personal accident insurance. Third party insurance is covered by membership of the Countryside Alliance and some horse and house insurance.
