Schedule For Grafton Hunt Team Chase 19th October 2008

Class 1 Novice Team Chase
Sponsored by The Ben Humphrey Memorial Syndicate

This class is designed to suit all members of the family. The course consists of approx 20 fences, with a water complex, about one and a half miles long. Maximum height of fixed fences approximately 2’9”. The competition will be judged over a bogey time.
1st Prize - £100 2nd Prize - £80 3rd Prize - £60

Rosettes to 6th place

The Ben Humphrey Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the best Grafton Team.

Special prizes for The Best Family Team and The Best Pony Club / School Team

Entry Fee £70 per team plus £10 declaration fee payable on the day


Class 2 Open Team Chase
Sponsored by Berry Morris


Qualifier for The National Team Chase Championships. The course consists of approximately 24 fixed fences over a distance of about 2 miles. Minimum age of riders - 16 years. Horses must be over 14.2hh. The competition will be judged over the fastest time.

1st Prize - £400 2nd Prize - £250 3rd Prize - £150 4th Prize - £75
(subject to confirmation of national sponsorship). Rosettes to 10th Place.
The winning team will also receive The Grafton Hunt Open Trophy.
Entry Fee £110 per team plus £20 declaration fee payable on the day


Class 3 Intermediate Team Chase
Sponsored by Construction & Shopfitting Ltd

This class is designed to suit more experienced hunting teams. The course consists of approximately 22 fixed fences over a distance of about 2 miles. The maximum height of fixed obstacles will not exceed 3'9". Minimum age of riders - 16 years. Horses must be over 14.2hh. The competition will be judged over the fastest time.
1st Prize - £150 2nd Prize - £120 3rd Prize - £80
Rosettes to 6th place.
The Gerald Dancer Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the fastest Grafton Team.

Entry Fee £90 per team plus £10 declaration fee payable on the day.



Class 4 Hunter Trial
Sponsored by E H Douglas

Designed as an introduction to a Team Chase course, and run under team chasing rules, this class is for less experienced horses and riders. Run over the Novice course. Maximum height of fixed fences approximately 2' 9". For this competition individuals will be judged over a bogey time. Pairs are invited to compete hors concors only.
1st Prize - £40 2nd Prize - £30 3rd Prize - £20
Rosettes to 6th place.

Entry Fee £20 per horse




Directions to the Grafton Hunt Team Chase

From the M40 Junction 11 (Banbury), take the A422 Brackley Road. At the top of the hill, at the end of the dual carriageway, turn left at the roundabout onto the B4525 Northampton Road. Continue along this road for approximately 3 miles and turn left as sign posted to Sulgrave. Continue on for about 2 miles, but DO NOT turn right into Sulgrave Village as signed, but instead keep straight on for half a mile and the Course will be seen on the right hand side of the road.

Late entries will be taken at the Secretary's discretion
