THE V.W.H. 2009 TEAM CHASE COURSE DESCRIPTION.

AT

AMPNEY DOWN FARM
SUNDAY
8th MARCH

This year we are holding 4 classes.

Starting with the Intermediate.
The course is approx 1 1/2 miles covering undulating Cotswold farmland, finishing with an uphill line of timber, hedges and walls – horses must be fit!
The obstacles are a mixture of solid timber, Cotswold walls and hedges – some with drops on landing. The water will have 2 options – but the easier option will have a bearing on a competitive finishing time!

The Open is approx 2 miles long – again finishing with that uphill loop of hedges and walls. Hedges are well up to height with some meaty drops to contend with – not for the faint hearted!

Novice – all comers. This is new for this year. This course will be approx 1 1/4 miles, with around 22 obstacles. We will combine the fences from the novice with some of the easier Intermediate – not hedges! As stated in the programme the maximum height will be 3’3. All fences will be inviting and well built to encourage novices to step up towards Intermediate level.

Novice – fun. This is our popular novice course – consisting of 19 well built inviting obstacles designed for younger and less experienced team chasers to have some fun! As with our bigger courses both novice classes include a water jump, walls, hedges and solid timber.

The course offers good viewing; our hospitality tent is situated in front of the water. Hot and cold beverages are available, Robert will be serving delicious pig roast at lunchtime along with the usual bacon and sausage rolls. Ampney Down Farm is situated on the A429 north of Cirencester with easy access and dual carriageway links to the M4 and M5.
