It was a stunningly beautiful day; the going was good; the course looked immaculate and jumped really well. We hope others will be encouraged to enter next year: those who did can assure you that the course is “undulating” and varied.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported us – especially the Rappel Hair Raisers who made the long trek from Cardiff to Suffolk. They finished an extremely close second to local team, Tangos. How exciting to have our first Essex and Suffolk Team Chase won by a team including Essex and Suffolk subscribers! Other Essex and Suffolk teams did very well finishing 3rd, 7th and 8th with the Waveney Harriers finishing 6th. Such a shame that course owner and Master, James Buckle, was laid up in hospital after a hunting fall and missed the day – as it was his idea to run a Team Chase in the first place.

Jill Taylor.
