The stunts were formed in 1991 by Tony Woodward, and competed whenever possible from that point, mainly in novice and intermediate classes, now regularly competing in open's placed 9th at the 2007 championships. Due to scaring the majority of his fellow riders, his team members have tended to change, hopefully now there seems to be some consistency!

Tony Woodward riding Duggan, an unregistered TB who has found his niche in life after the confines of a show jumping arena. Although competed regularly since ’98, Duggan has always been the baby and only since Tony took the ride over in 2005 has he shown just how talented he can be. Speed jumping is his favourite occupation, and is brave over the biggest hedges. Right turns have been known to cause chaos though, usually culminating in a circle to the left and regaining the lead before the next fence! Duggan still has a lot to learn, he is unable to tack himself up or put studs in, but having seen how Tony has educated him so far I’m sure even these tasks will be possible before too long. Tony works as a Radiographer at Leicester Royal, so we are lucky to have an expert at hand to diagnose those broken bones.

Sue Tideswell, and the chestnut 'Inch'. Inch is bold and brave, unless there's a ditch involved, and Sue is made of the same stuff. Based in Staffordshire, Sue is one of our most supportive team members, always giving of her best and yelling us on whatever we are doing at the time......and boy.... does she have a loud voice!!!

Alice Pearson is an event rider and producer from Hereford, and joins us on Finn, the grey flying machine. When the Stunts slip up and miss a turn you can bet she'll be the one skipping past and taking the lead. Not always available to join us during the event season, we don't really mind as she's always cheery and a very good team player.

Emma Herbert-Davies rides her own 'Blue', who she's had since a youngster. Luckily for us, there are very few brave open riders in Yorkshire where she hails from, and we manage to nab her at the more Northerly events. Always arriving with her own special 'Jumping Juice' in hand, the pair have been part of the Cunning Stunts over the last three years wherever time and distance permits. And watch out for the hair!!!

One of our fastest and bravest combinations and certainly a super member of the Cunning Stunts is Paul Browse and the incredible Sox. Out of action for most of the Spring season due to injury, we hope they will be back to lead us on in the Autumn, one of the quickest horses around a team chase that we have ever seen.
Also running with us on occasions since autumn 2005 is Bryan Allen and one of his horses. So far we’ve seen Thomas, Mish and Indy in the team, these horses can really get a move on! Bryan has been team chasing for years as well as point to pointing and generally galloping about recklessly….perfect for the Stunts! Originally starting in the second half of the team, he has worked his way up and has been known to take the lead……not always by choice. We don’t mind though, he usually makes it up to us in the bar!
