Oh well, was definately on, was maybe on, then was certainly not on, so spent over 3 hours each way with the foot welded to the accelerator to find out that that the race was postponed due to frost. Never mind, met some nice people and got a welcome cup of coffee. They are deciding when to reschedule, think end of Jan better than next couple of weeks.
Ps Indie a bit slow up the hills, shall we give the horse a head start? :P

Burty, nice pic in H&H thumbup

I reckon its a fishtank with some goldfish in :D

According to their rules the Ingarsby postponement date is Jan 2nd, will you be still full of Xmas cheer then Emma, probably a good idea, the lorry knows its way there now so you could risk a drink or several

Just to try to get this topic back on track  (fat chance) the Ingarsby Challenge has been re-scheduled for the 8th January 2006 :o , see main site for more details.

Reckon that's just enough time to get over Christmas & New Year and about the right time to start cracking out the booze again!! thumbup

Actually, we had a chat about the race running around the end of Jan - seemed to be ok at the time but apparently now clashes with other events, ie ptp. The original put back date was 2nd Jan. 8th pretty impossible for me.
Am now offered half price on next years entry, but think i should get a refund: £60 entry, £50 diesel in my gas guzzler to drive up to walk the course, £60 plus in box fuel to drive there and back with 2 horses, the race was only cancelled 10 minutes before i got there. Cost: £170 min.
Cost me an arm an leg.
Slightly peeved, oh yes.
Do it again?
No.
Expect an entry refund at least.

:( I won't be going either :( Clashes with the p2p seminar in Doncaster, and i'm looking forward to that!

Events can't help the weather, but they should do what they can to make amends....

Besides, how can the rules state re run date as 2nd Jan, yet they decide on the 8th??

Exactly my point, given 2 dates so if both are rearranged i think i am due a refund. Waiting for the reply, hope the organisers are supporter friendly.

Next planned free-for-all is the Bedale in Feb, not sure what date, when is the Melton? - big ears heard it's end of Feb, any news? Trying to get a jockey for the second horse, fit enough to make Zebedee look like he's had a sedative but think i have a flat racer determined to have a crack at it, should be fun! Sue's hoss is going dicky again so may ply her with some amber nectar and let her take the second ride teamchasing. Sod's Law - horses cost a fortune in vet's bills and the riders make you want to own a share in Gordan's. ;)

Sorry, Sue, not "let " her, i mean ask her! Or, in extreme circumstances, get her legless and phone tape her promise to do it ;)

We seem to have at least three for a team for the Badsworth, are the Burty-Woodwards going to enter? Be nice to meet up and swap gin recipies.

For anyone else, it's a decent course, up to height, lots of hedge, ground generally good as apparently organisers known to go round it with hairdriers the night before. Bless.

Ps all classes up to height, don't expect a novice novice track, this is a good hunting course. Open is big, flowing and a joy to jump.

Addition to Emma's badsworth comments... apparently, you have to war whoop loudly after the 12th fence....

We'll be there, as well as the Y&A's hopefully, although most our team these days seem to be southerners so we may well be recruiting a few extras from your neck of the woods!

Unless our old friend Minxy is up for the challenge? thumbup Come on girl, get that gee gee ridden and fit!

Minxy

Hopefully he'll be fit, although still have no lorry, but horses keep escaping and are doing a couple of miles a day through cow poached ground so i'm already working on their stamina... ;)

Emma 1

Oh yes, war whoop obligatory after that particular hedge - i remember that's the one fence on the course walk you refused to look at (as none of us could see over the top of it, even standing on the ground line log) and caused you to glug rather a lot of Sue's gin ....lol! It is a decent course though, i am really looking forwards to going over it again though this time i am leading (on Friday) and Sue may be up on Blue if her horse is not 100%, otherwise i will have a spare ride and get to hopefully ride it twice, for my sins.

Y&A North first, though, as will have to test my steering. Friday first class but tends to log on like cruise missile, need to make minor adjustments to prevent ending up in the beer tent / half way to Brighton.

PS Tori, ;) Sent you email re the ned, he's very happily hunting me my way across Yorkshire and is a very happy bunny.
