Hey Burty, you're quote of the week in Nag & Dog (contents page) - well done!
But why does Tony always get his picture in and not any of the other Stunts ? Must be something to do with Duggan's splendid death-defying leaps!

Will miss them at the Heythrop - memo to snapper: stand by the drop hedge at the nationals!

They are just a pair of show offs. The drop hedge in the finals is just amazing, walks dreadfully but rides like a dream. Bit gutted I may not get to jump it this year.
Emma1 and Minxy were both a major part of the winning team, in fact it was that Emma that led, not myself, I was bringing up the rear as always. I know my place:D
Brilliant pics and words from Jo as always, the one of the 'fault in the earth's crust' is brilliant. (There's no way that can be called a ditch...) But I'd love to know if there was one of Dan and myself at that drop, I do have a tendency to sit back a little......:rolleyes:

it also says in the nag & dog that you could have used the alternative at the ditch????????? every one who asked the organisers about it was told that you had to do the ditch there was NO ALTERATIVE even though the log had a black 18 on it?!

Yep, they told us that at the start too,but we had no intention of doing it so just ignored them!

H&H got the Emmas mixed up but hey ho, from now on i will call myself something a bit more memorable (Fifi, Esmerelda, Scarlett, possibly Madam Le Gordens or Ms Bombay Sapphire). Nice pic of Tony doing his Beechers Brook impression :thumbup: Dyke looked smaller in the pics, think maybe down to giant sized photographer or my memory...

Good day out??!? I have a picture on my phone of you holding an oversized trophy and wearing a huge grin. That was more than a good day out.....!

The ditch I saw in the picture in Horse and Hound was not impressive it was down right bloody dangerous. i cant believe the MFHA allows a fence like that to be put in a course, it surprises me that anyone who thinks anything of their horses is prepared to ask them to jump it - sorry, scramble it. There are rules about banking and supporting ditches take offs and landings in BE and MFHA rules for a very good reason!

Teamchasing. Originally invented for teams of hunters to race across hunting country. There are hundreds of the bloody things up there! I for one would rather run over a track like that than the silly corner fences that are popping up. I think a lot of my horse thank you Fred, I know his capabilities and weaknesses and how to ride him for the safest results. There were no casualties other than mud on faces, it has been part of the Burton course for plenty of years. I can't confirm it was there when an open qualifier was last run but I suspect so. No one complained after walking it, or after riding it. It was merely a challenging fence. I hated it, but then I always hate ditches. I just don't 'do' them!

it was a novice allcomers class not intermediate to try and encourage people ?!! the team i rode with ask about that ditch before the event , we were told we would have to ride it, as the log had been taken out, we also complained to them after the class that the log should have been left in as we are not all as brave as some of the bigger teams that do it most weekends. the choice of the alternative would have been nice .
