Have to tell absolutely everyone that Daisy has just won the British Eventing Intermediate Championships with Oli Townend!! Mind you, her gallop to the finish was somewhat reminiscent of the open teamchases last season - a little ragged! £2,500 prize money was a nice little earner for him though. Apparently he won't be taking her round Badminton until the year after next.
Whilst that means Daisy is no longer available for teamchasing, my young horse is coming along very nicely - so if there are any novice/intermediate teamchases that don't clash with events (or my wedding on 15 Sept) then I would be very grateful for a run with baby Stunts....:D

What a day to get married, with the Belvoir Team Chase being on Sunday 16th Sept !

You're telling me! But the only way not to clash with anything is to get married in December - and now I'm hooked on show jumping even December is out!
September 15th is Battle of Britain day, its also Prince Harrys birthday.
Its mine too!
Heres the plan, marriage saturday, honeymoon sunday evening, conveniently after TC, i'm sure Minxy will hold your flight if you run a little late!

Sounds like my idea of a perfect start to a honeymoon - but sadly husband-to-be disagrees. I have however been allowed to delay the honeymoon to the end of the eventing season in return for not competing on Sunday 16th September!!

Horses (and ourselves) always need to come before the men ;o)
Well, I can't unhitch the carriage pony and join the Stunts at the Belvoir, as he's only 13.2....but I guess we have room in the team now, seeing as our usual team memebrs have booked extra holiday! Good luck Rach, hope to see you back with us soon.

Thanks Burty. Pics of my young chap - taken a few months ago. He went Newcomers yesterday for the first time - and won. Seems to win everything :) . Would have won his PN at the weekend but we went too fast. Of all the ways to lose a class! He's stepping up to Novice now so if all goes well he should prove a useful team chaser.:D

That's great, seems like you know a good horse when you see one, bearing in mind the price you paid for the chap!
We had a winning start too, at our first full driving trials......
Managed to win the dressage, double clear in the cones, and top in our group in the marathon too!

Oh that looks brilliant fun! I'm very impressed at the dressage outfit -stunning! My mum wanted to take up scurry racing a few years ago when we had a couple of energetic matching Welsh A's but sadly we never got round to it. I remain firmly of the opinion, however, that it is much safer to be in the saddle than following their hindquarters! Makes me nervous.

Nice pictures, Burty, but notice you are wearing the Stunts colours. Am now seriously worried about joining you this autumn as obviously the team chasing rules have been radically changed. Can we all fit on the back of that thing and more importantly, how do we get it over the fences?

You'd fit on the back ok, and the new pocket rocket i've just aquired would still hurtle round with the extra weight. Standing barely 12.2, pure hackney with the associated knee action. Goes like stink, i'd better learn my obstacles well next week because he doesn't allow me a second chance!!.... team chasing seems tame after him ;o)
