  • HOW DO I JOIN A TEAM?

Gather 3 other friends and enter a team, or our social pages are a great way of advertising or requesting a slot in a team. If you pop a post on, one of our friendly bunch will always point you in the right direction!

  • DO I NEED A FAST HORSE?

The short answer is no! There is so much more to teamchasing than just the speed classes! If you want to be up with the competitive teams then it certainly helps to have a fast horse, but it doesn't matter if you have a steady eddie! The key is to find a team that suits you and your horse's ability, and we will guarantee you'll have the best time!

  • HOW DO I ENTER A TEAM?

We've recently set up our own entry system! If you follow this link - www.teamchasingreg.co.uk

It will take you right to where you need to enter!

There are three steps to entering.

    1. Make sure all your riders have registered.

    2. Register each of your horses.

    3. Register your team, and enter away!

  • DO I NEED ANY SPECIALIST EQUIPMENT?

Your hat and body protector MUST be up to our current standards. This is to ensure the safety of all our riders. But as long as you have a saddle, a bridle, and a horse, you're all set to go!

Many of the teams you'll see, put specialist boots, studs, and event grease on for safety reasons, but it's not a requirement.

  • ARE THERE SET HEIGHTS FOR CLASSES?

Every course is different and while the team chasing rules outline the maximum heights for novice, intermediate and open, level of difficulty can be affected by terrain, course layout and the nature of the fences. Maximum heights of fixed fences are as follows:

    NOVICE - 100cm ( 3'3" )

    INTERMEDIATE - 115cm ( 3'9" )

    OPEN - 120cm ( 3'11" )

  • ARE THEY ALL SPEED CLASSES?

No! We have a great selection of classes to get you started, with some events now running 'mini' classes and the novices are judged on a bogey time. We even have intermediate bogey classes for those who want to jump bigger, but are not quite as speedy!

  • WHAT DO I WEAR?

We encourage a certain level of smart turnout for riders, but there are no rules as such on what you wear. An up to standard hat and body protector are a must, as are correct riding boots. Team colours certainly help, as that's all part of the fun! We've seen some fabulous, vibrant team colours over the years!

  • How fit does my horse need to be?

Your horse must be able to cover a minimum of 1.5 miles, cantering and jumping roughly 20 fences to complete a Novice.

At Intermediate and Open level, your horse should be comfortable galloping around 2 miles jumping roughly 20 fences.
